This is mostly a symbolical post, but after the story of Edward Snowden , I wanted to do something.
So here it is: I made a pgp key with the gnu privacy guard. gpg encryption is incorperated in most email clients, but unfortunately, it is difficult to use in combination with a webmail client.

Update: my favourite website on technology, Ars technica has posted updated instructions on how to encrypt your email. At the same time, they point out while most of us are not going to do this. Lifehacker also has detailed instructions and an explanation on how public key encryption works.
